Choosing an Executor of Estate (Personal Representative)

When choosing a Personal Representative (formally known as Executor) for your Last Will and Testament the most important question that you must ask yourself is “who do I trust to administer my wishes when I have passed away?”

In most cases, the answer is a spouse, child, sibling, or close family member or friend. Additionally, it is frequently appropriate for the beneficiary of a Will to be a Family Trust which insures the privacy of the individual executing the Will as it will prevent the beneficiaries from being public record with the Probate and Family Court.

The Executor/Personal Representative of a Will maintains certain responsibilities that include being an integral part in the distribution process of an individual’s estate once they pass away. It is important to choose an Executor who is not only willing to take on these responsibilities, but also be able to handle the stress after losing a loved one. The team at Falco & Associates, P.C. will help you choose a Personal Representative for your Last Will and Testament and when necessary, will be available to guide the Executor through the process of distributing your wishes and estate.
